Welcome

Himla många stjärnor is a blog about a life, feelings, thoughts and inspiration - the name is in Swedish and means "heavenly many stars". I'm Maija, a 25-year-old daydreamer and nature-lover originally from the forests of Eastern Finland, nowadays mainly living in Stockholm, Sweden. All photos in this blog are taken by me and unedited (except resizing) if not otherwise stated. I hope you enjoy them and get inspired!

Skin care favorites

1) Dermosil Nature facial cleansing gel (natural and organic cosmetic certified by Ecocert, 99,4% of the total ingredients from natural origin, 12,8% of the total ingredients from organic farming): smells amazing and works perfectly on my greasy skin with acne.

2) Ecological coconut oil: a great, simple product to use instead of those complicated face creams full of ingredients your skin really doesn't need. Works like magic as a smoothing hair mask as well!

3) Cowshed wild cow invigorating body lotion (paraben and sulphate free, no mineral oils or petrolatum, contains botanical actives and pure essential oils): love this smell!

These are all of my daily skin care products, some times a week I also make a mask out of aspirin, lemon or banana peels. Especially aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid: sounds expensive, right? It's not, except in those ultraexpensive skin care products full of unnecessary ingredients) is an amazing product for acne spots and makes the skin amazingly smooth! Toothpaste also works as a night fighter against acne spots.

60's

Makuuhuoneen yksi seinä on pelkkiä kapeita kaappeja: pakko rakastaa!

Keittiön ainut miinus on pikkuruinen laskutasotila (laskutila?), mutta olen rakastunut tuohon kenties hitusen epäkäytännölliseen materiaalivalintaan!

Keittiön vanhat kaapit! Ihan parasta!

Kokonaisuudessaankin keittiö on ehdoton suosikkipaikkani tässä talossa!

March: spring/winter

In one night the world turned from spring back to winter again.

(I always feel so awkward when taking pictures in public places, like on the university campus.. Maybe some practice on photographing-in-public needed?)

First world problems

What I've got in my mind all the time, represented in one Facebook status:
The ultimate first world problem (hashtag): to get anxious because you can't choose from all those theoretical but still realistic possibilities in your life, AND therefore get extra anxious when you know there are billions of people who can only wish they had all those same possibilities.

Sunshine at home!

I love these big windows, light curtains, wide window sills and big plants in my March-apartment!

Too bright too white

Kevät on jo saapunut Tukholmaan, mutta elettyäni puolitoista kuukautta ilman nettiyhteyttä kotona, ajattelin kuitenkin heittää esille nämä ihanan joululoman osittain ylivaloittuneet kuvat. Koska lumi ja valkeus ja oikea talvi!
